Fall 2008

29th August 4:30pm, Picnic on Flagstaff Hill:

Also known as the Ice-Cream Sandwich Social! ISUnion is hosting a picnic on Flagstaff hill specially for the incoming freshmen, so come out and make yourself a sandwich! Right after this we will be trooping down to the Phipps Conservatory for a chance to check it out. Here's a map. We'll have someone standing at The Fence to direct you to Flagstaff Hill.

Every Week, Midnight Futsal. Undisclosed location and time:

The ISUnion hosts a weekly soccer/futsal event at midnight on the rooftop of a undisclosed building during the summer and the winter. 5th September, Free Fried Rice with the Vietnamese Student Association:

The ISUnion joins forces with the VSA to provide campus with some authentic and FREE fried rice. Check out the space between Resnik and the University Center on the 5th of september 4:30 - 6:30

8th September, General Body Meeting:

The ISUnion is here to serve you.. FREE INDIAN CUISINE. and at the same time give you a chance to meet the board and find out about our events.

11th September,MPC Fair:

The Multicultural President's Council is holding a fair in the UC from 5:00 - 6:00 on the 11th of September. See you there!

14th September, Board Interviews:

A new year means a new board! ISUnion interviews for the positions of IT Chair, Graphics Design, Public Relations Committee, Freshmen Representative are just around the corner. Contact zrickytan@gmail.com to apply.

27th September, Wiffle Ball Tournament!:

What the heck is wiffle ball!? To be honest, i'm not sure myself. Apparently, its a crazy spin off of baseball where everything is ten times as fun. Come check it out! on the Cut at 2 pm.

11th October, Relay For Life:

The Union fight backs against cancer! Join our relay team as we look to raise money for a most honorable cause, and at the same time have fun until the wee hours of the night! Our team name: ISUnion. For more information visit: www.events.cancer.org/rflpaoakland.

Spring 2008

Booth:

The most awsome event of Spring 2008, and every spring, BOOTH Along with Mayur-SASA, the ISU built the Taj Mahal! The exhaustion was brilliant and the experience was invalable. It was our first year in collaboration with Mayur-SASA and we were judged 4th! and only a hair behind 3rd place. Next year we can only get better.

Cricket Tournament:

Cricket is a popular sport originated in England and now played in South East Asia, Australia and many other countries of the world. Due to the diverse nature of CMU, it is a popular sport amongst most international students. Hence, the ISU along with the CMU Cricket Club organised a tournament and is also showed cricket matches throughout the semester.

 

Fall 2007

ISU Pool Tournament:

A tournament with more than 30 participants, held in Scotland Yard (Game Room).

ISU Jamboree, a UC Late night event:

6 diverse organisations converged upon the University Center to provide everyone on campus with tasty treats. Not to mention FREE!

Restaurant hop to Abay (Ethiopian Restaurant):

Every semester we try to make a restaurant trip, and the cost is subsidized by the ISU. This semester we took about ten people to Abay. It was a new experience.

Soccer Matches:

We ended up showing many football (soccer) matches. Soccer lovers had a blast, showing their passion by waking up at unholy hours of the morning just to shout at the television set.
